APPLICATION FOR SARAH BURROUGHS
Full Name (first and last named): Sarah Burroughs
Hair Color (natural and/or dyed): Dirty Blonde
Date of Birth (day, month, and year): 1675
[If Vampire]Changed (yes/no): Yes
Year changed: 1692 (Age 17)
[If Vampire]Changed by (full name): Samuel Cory
Eye Color: Burgundy/Black
Height (in feet and inches please): 5'5''
Physical Description (include what they wear, how they look, and any special scar or birthmark that distinguishes them): Sarah has straight, dirty blonde hair that falls to her midback. She has a slender frame and face, and her shoulders and joints appear as if they are blocky and stick out as a result. She has small features other than her hands which run a little on the large side of her body stature. She designs her own clothes, although the colors are often rather dark and are simple in nature overall.
Personality (include how they act, what they think of other people/vampires, how they think, how they react to different situations): Sarah tends to be relatively timid, preferring to take a backseat than being a front runner. As a human, she was very quiet and reserved and had very few friends. This carried into her vampire life, and even adjusting to the group of 7 that makes up the Calumny took some time for her and she still prefers to remain rather silent and keep things to herself even in the presence of the group.
Occupation (include previous occupations, if any): Seamstress
Special Talents (this can be something from academics to soccer to role playing to lockpicking): Sarah has the ability to teleport from one location to another. Although vampires move swiftly, this is even faster and leaves no traces (no scents, etc). She has a ten mile radius within which she can transport, and go from one point in that ten miles to another in under a second. Others do not know she is going to teleport near them until she is already visible, giving her a major advantage in any battle situation. She is good for both offense and defense as a result. She cannot teleport others with her, but objects that she can easily carry (objects that don't require vampire strength- she cannot move a car) can be teleported with her.
Places Lived (no, you do not have to include the day and a half you spent at the hospital when you were first born): Born in Cape Ann, MA and moved to Salem Town at age 14. Sarah traveled through the New England area, and has traveled through the United States, Canada, Mexico and South America.
Family (include mother, father, brother[s], sister[s]): Mother, Father, two younger sisters (2 and 3 years younger than her).
Hobbies (what your character likes to do): She enjoys sewing and stitching, and tends to still make poppet type dolls. She also designs and makes her own clothes.
Cars (if any): Dark purple Lamborghini Gallardo
Past (descriptive please!):
Sarah was born in Cape Ann, where she lived with her father who was a carpenter, and her mother who lived the usual Protestant lifestyle and was a housewife and subservient to her husband. She had two younger sisters, and they helped her mother take care of the house. At age 14, her family moved the few miles to Salem Town. Because she was new, and tended to be reserved even when she was with girls her own age, she became a target for witch accusations in 1962 when they first started outbreaking due to the way the boys seemed to take interest in her because of her timidness. Although her parents were standing members of the church and she followed the religion closely, Sarah was imprisoned, where she remained for two weeks until time for her to be hanged.
At the public hanging, she was lined up with the other 14 women who were also accused of being witches. She dropped with the others, but the noose did not line up properly on her and she did not die immediately. She struggled for a moment before she realized that was killing her faster and stopped. The noose hanged on her neck in such a way that it only restricted her breathing slightly, and was simply painful more than anything else as it had jerked her head upwards and not sideways.
Because evidence was coming out that some of the accusations may have been false and made out of spite, the hanging was done in the evening and was a rapid affair. To her surprise, a man came out from the woods near her, his eyes focused on her. She noticed they were a dark shade, and she tried to cry out but only succeeded in tightening the noose around her neck. The stranger asked what she did, and upon her claims of innocence, the man took her down but realized damage had been done to her airway and she would not survive. He decided to change her, and carried her fifty miles away before doing so. A nomadic vampire came through the area just days after her transformation was complete and killed the man who turned her but knew that as a newborn she would win the battle and left her to fend for herself. She never discovered what spurred the attack, and began to travel on her own, giving in to her desires and feeding often although she quickly left the Salem area.
In the early 1900s, she was traveling through South America, still on her own, when she came across another vampire (Tomas Santiego) that was hiding in a small forest near a town. She tried to keep her presence unknown, but in her haste to keep hidden she teleported away from him but then tried to come back to see about him. He noticed her, but saw no reason to dispose of her. Her ability intrigued him, and the two traveled together for a few months before splitting to go their own ways. It was through him that she came into the Calumny for their overthrow of the Volturi but remained on her own when the group did not need to be together.
