This is the prologue. Tell me what you think of it.

Dear Alexandra,

The gift you are about to open is extremely important. And yes this proves I’m real. You must not use it for wrong, or else it doesn’t work. I’m not exactly sure if I should have even given you this gift. But I suppose there’s no turning back. All you have to do is recite these words.

“I wish ____. I wish it with all my heart and more. I understand what will come of this wish.”

I tucked the letter away in my pajama pants pocket and took up the sphere package. Slowly I started to peel off the wrapping, a light blue glow filling the dark bedroom. I tore the rest of the wrapping off in excitement. The light blue orb was unlike anything I’d ever seen. I turned the ball over and over in my hands. Then I pulled out the piece of paper in my pocket and smiled. My wish.
I balanced the orb in my hand and recited my wish…….
