I know exactly what you mean. After chapter 7, I said to my friends I was reading it with "If this was a fanfiction, I would have stoped reading it by now" But I kept reading it and ended up loving it and placing it as my 2nd fav. book, right behind twilight. They still haven't finished it yet. I keep telling them it gets way better, but they are slow readers and don't have much motivation based on what they've read so far.

The only part I really hated was Renesme's name, but I suppose it could be worse with the whole Edward Jacob thing. While I read her going threw Bella's possible names as she thought of it and was litterally saying "what is up with writers and not being able to name new children? I mean the whole epilouge of Harry Potter and now this?!?!?"

I didn't like New Moon for one reason and one reason only: Edward left. Not that there was no Edward, but that Edward left Bella. That's why I was ok once Jacob stoped being a jerk in book to of Breaking Dawn. I don't hate Jacob because he's not Edward, I don't like him becuase he hurt bella by trying to force her hand in the whole Ecli[se thing.

I'm just overal glad that everyone gets a happy ending and the Volturi showed up again. Plus all the power people were fun to learn about. I LOVED that part

Ya know, I really didn't like Breaking Dawn at all. I felt that Stephenie went way out of synch with the entire Twilight world that she created, and couldn't really even give a good explanation for it in the book. How Reneesmee ever even came to be was not even really explained, and that really made me bad because Stephenie said herself that couldn't happen. I also felt alot of the characters, especially Bella and Edward, were REALLY out of character. I just don't buy it that Bella was so willing to carry the kid to term even tho it was killing her and even though she had to watch Edward waste away and become something worse than he was in New Moon as a result. I just don't buy it... I also don't think Edward really would let all that happen, and even go so far as to proposition Jake for puppies. And Rosalie.... yes, she wants a kid but she values human life. THe one thing she is fighitng Bella for so much, the thing she hates Bella for, is her humanity. She is fighing for Bella's ability to have kids, raise those kids, and grow old with those kids- not for Bella to pop one out and die in teh process and that part doesn't matter. I just don't buy that at all.

And the fact that I have read basically everything in that book in one fanfic or another upset me too- it wasn't original. It can't even be blamed on the fact that the readers are just smart or w/e. Cuz really, think about... if anyone tried to write their own sequel to Twilight, it wouldn't have been anything like New Moon. They certainly would never have considered Edward leaving, Jasper really trying to attack Bella (even if we know about his contorl issues before), and the Volturi never would have even come up. It was all original, it was Stpehenie's, and it was creative. Same with Eclipse- the whole Victoria cming back thing, Irena and Laurent becoming mates.... all that stuff never would have happened in a fanfic. But Breaking Dawn? It was all in fanfics- fics meant to be very AU, very out of character, and very different. And yet, that was the final book.

So, yeah, I dind't at all like it. That is not to say it wasn't interesting to read, and stand alone it is good, but overall I thought it was a major let down.

As for New Moon.. maybe I am just weird but I actually really liked it because Edward left. Awful, I know... but the fact that he could love Bella so much, even if in a misguided way, to leave her in an effort to protect her is phenomenal in my opinion. He todl her lies, yes, but he needed to to try to protect her. Because yes she is a danger magnet, but face it- she was put in more danger since she met Edward than ever before and it really was because of what he was. If James had passed through Forks, he would have paid her no mind if she had no connection to Edward. It was Edward's possessiveness that set James off. While I think that the smaller event of Jasper's attempted attack was not necessarily a good final trigger for Edward to leave, I think it is amazing just how deep his love for her runs if he could put himself through that much pain and suffereing and torment to try to let her move on. Plus, their reunion at the end was beautiful in my opinion. Fighting for each other's lives with the Volturi, then Bella fighting to remember every fleeting moment she has with him until she figures out he really is back for good- it really shows the strength of their bond and the love that they have and makes Edward's actions in the very beginning that much power amazing.

I agree about the fan-fiction thing. Personally, I thought it was a complete waste of Meyer's time.

Of course, she was probably occupied with writing The Host and so she didn't give Breaking Dawn her full attention...but still.

That isn't a good excuse at all though. She should have put one or the other off. I would have rather waited longer for a fantastic book than get this crappy excuse for a sequel now. *sigh* I am still depressed about it....

I cant force myself to finish the book yet.....i don't have much left......but its enough....and its not that the book is bad, it just dosent follow well. I'm sure everything I Have to say about the book our long winded buddy Jasper has already said so im not going to repeat it all, but Icomplitly agree with Jasper. I'll finish the book this coming weekend when im flying from Sacramento to L. A though. its only an hour and a half but both ways its like 3 hours and we are doing it all in one day so i should be fine. and when the wedding gets boring ill read there too...lol

sooooooooooooo I just finished it....lol....and i gotta say, i was really hopeing for a fight?
